Chelsea Residence

A classic Chelsea building with an unmodernised duplex inside, reworked into two homes that each feel complete in their own right.

Splitting one property into two is about more than adding a wall. Each residence needed its own sense of arrival, its own proportions and enough storage for real life, so the plan was reconfigured and extended until neither felt like half of something.

The period details were kept wherever they gave the rooms character, and the new work was drawn simply so it sits beside them rather than competing. We chose oak, hand-finished plaster and stone because they get better with use: kitchens and bathrooms built for everyday living, with a warmth that will only deepen over time.
